Frank Lampard have weighed in into debates on Alvaro Morata's performance against Arsenal in the Community Shield during the weekend.
It can be recalled that Arsenal beat Chelsea on penalties to win their 13th Community Shield, with Chelsea new boy, Morata brought in with 16 minutes remaining in the game but he struggled to make an impression even losing his kick during the penalty shoot out.
Thw Chelsea legend backed Morata to recover from the setback ahead of the start of the Premier League.
“He came on for ten minutes and made an impact straight away,” Lampard told BT Sport.
“Another week of fitness and I’d be very surprised if he’s not starting for Chelsea next weekend.”
Morata is one of four new arrivals at Stamford Bridge in the summer transfer window.
The Blues start their Premier League campaign with a home clash against Burnley on Saturday.
