2019: Olusegun Mimiko declares for President, vows to stop killings

A former Ondo State Governor, Olusegun Mimiko have annouced he will challenge Muhammadu Buhari for the presidency in 2019, under the Labour Party.


He made this known at about 12:15pm, at an event which held at the National Secretariat of the Alhaji Abdulkadir Abdulsalam-led LP, in Abuja, on Thursday.


Speaking at the event he said there comes a time in the life of a nation where all patriots must stand up to be counted.


“I have found it compelling to declare my intention to run for president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria”.


Mimiko lamented the killings that are going on across the country especially in the middle-belt, saying purposeful leadership was required to halt the carnage.
