DON'T DO IT! Supreme Court asks FG to stop enforcement of monetary policy

Nigeria's apex court, the Supreme, have restrained the Federal Government from enforcing the February 10 deadline for the use of N200, N500 and N1000 old Naira notes.

In an unanimous decision by a seven-member panel, the court halted the

full implementation of the demonetisation policy of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN.

It can be recalled that three Northern states, Kaduna, Kogi and Zamfara, filed a suit at the apex court, following the unavailablity of notes since the implement of the policy by the Governor of the CBN, Godwin Emefiele.
