It is all about trophies for me, Arsenal ex goalie says as he urges Wenger to emulate Mourinho

Arsene Wenger have been advised to take a leaf out of Jose Mourinho's book to bring back the good old days by David Seaman.

Manchester United's coach, Jose Mourinho, won three trophies in his first season at the club but Arsenal's Arsene Wenger finished out of the top four for the first time in over two decades, which made Arsenal fans demand the head of Mr Wenger.

The Arsenal legend made the remarks to TalkSport, following a disappointing season at the Emirates and calls for trophies by the Arsenal faithfuls.

"Mourinho has gone in to Manchester United and won three trophies last season," he told TalkSport.
"Ok, they are not playing the best football, but it is not negative football. It is building on a defence and that is what we did at Arsenal for a long time. We need to get back to that.

"When I went to Arsenal, we didn't play the most attractive football but it was effective football and it won trophies.

"It is all about winning trophies, for me."

While Wenger may have ended the season without Champions League football, however, the ex-England goalkeeper is certain Arsenal have acted correctly in keeping him.

"For me they have made the right move," he added.

"I think it could have been done a little earlier, but I'm happy that he signed."
