An alliance of political parties discloses plans to field candidates in upcoming Gubernatorial elections

An alliance of fifteen registered political parties have disclosed plans to field consensus candidates in the Anambra, Ekiti and Osun gubernatorial elections.

Mega Coalition, which consists of the Allied Congress Party of Nigeria (ACPN), Better Nigeria Progressive Party (BNPP), Democratic Alternative (DA), Democratic Peoples Congress (DPC), and Democratic Peoples Party (DPP), among others, disclosed its plans to newsmen.

A leader of the coalition, Perry Opara, said the coalition was poised to do well in forthcoming polls.

“Ours is a friendly coalition, an electoral alliance for the sole purpose of winning elections. We are not averse to any political party.

“We are ready to work with APC, PDP or any party that presents good candidates that will provide dividends of democracy and maintain peace and unity in Nigeria.

“At Mega Coalition, we see political parties as vehicles while candidates are passengers. The Mega Coalition is the motor park with many vehicles (political parties).

“Every election is unique and has different peculiarities. Mega Coalition gives more attention to candidates than to political leaning.

“We have robust ideas on how to win 2019 elections and we shall try it first with Anambra elections”, Opara said.
