Nigeria's Senate President, Ahmed Lawan, have been chosen as All Progressive Congress (APC) consensus presidential candidate.

This was announced by the National Chairman of the rulling party, Abdullahi Adamu.

It can be recalled that 11 governors under the platform of the party have asked for the presidential candidate of the party to come from the Southern part of the country.

However, Mr Adamu have told the National Working Committee that he arrived at the choice of the Senate President after consultation with President Muhammadu Buhari.
