Nigeria's electoral umpire, The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has fixed Saturday, February 16, 2019 for the presidential and National Assembly elections.
Thia was made known on a tweet from the electoral body's official twitter account.
It added that the gubernatorial and state assembly elections and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) council elections will hold on March 2, 2019. INEC also announced that the timetable and schedule of activities for the Ekiti and Osun gubernatorial elections will be released on Thursday, October 5.
Meanwhile, Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Fayose, yesterday became the first person to enter the race, when he declared his intentions to run for president under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
