Sports news: Arsenal and Chelsea agree £18 million Giroud deal, as Aubameyang arrives Emirates for medicals

Chelsea and Arsenal have agreed on a £18 million transfer for France International Olivier Giroud, according to multiple reports coming out of England.

The two London neighbours have been locked in talks all day on Tuesday but a breakthrough has finally been made, with the France international now set to swap The Emirates for Stamford Bridge.

Talks actually broke down around lunchtime with the Blues walking away from negotiations, Arsenal refusing to accept a deal worth an initial £15m with £5m-worth of add-ons.

The move will also see Chelsea let Michy Batshuayi join Borussia Dortmund on loan, allowing them to sanction Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's move to Arsenal.

Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund forward, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has now arrived at Arsenal's training ground at London Colney after his flight from Germany, according to Sky Sports.

A private jet containing the Gabon international arrived at Luton Airport at 2pm on Tuesday afternoon, less than an hour after leaving Dortmund airport.

Arsenal is believed to have agreed a deal worth around £60m with Borussia Dortmund for the 28-year-old striker.

Even though Dortmund have agreed a fee, Sky sources understand they will not let Aubameyang go until they find a replacement.

Aubameyang did not testify as planned at Monday's trial hearing over the attack on the Dortmund team bus in April 2017 because of illness, and was booed by a section of Dortmund fans during last Saturday's 2-2 Bundesliga draw with Freiburg.

A banner in the crowd read: 'No player is bigger than our club'.
