Politics: Lagos State Governor, Ambode, enters emergency closed-door meeting, may dump APC

Lagos state Chief executive, Akinwunmi Ambode, have reportedly entered an emergency closed-door meeting with his commissioners and aides over his political future in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), ahead of the commencement of party primaries.


According to reports from DailyPost.ng, the governor has been in talks with key stakeholders of his cabinet following reports of a decision by the “godfather” of Lagos politics and National Leader of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, to withdraw support from his second term bid.


It was also learnt that the Governor is weighing the option of a last-minute defection to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, or the Action Democratic Congress, ADC, both of which are part of the Coalition of United Political Parties, CUPP.
