Aide to Ex president Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri, have faulted the audio Sallah message purported from President Muhammadu Buhari.
It can be recalled that a voice note was released by the Presidency, credited to Buhari, which felicitates with them on the occasion of Eid-el Fitr, but was actually spoken in Hausa, the language of the President's tribe.
The Presidency said on Sunday that Buhari, in the voice message “thanked Nigerians for their consistent prayers for his well-being.”
He also asked Nigerians to avoid hate speech and divisive tendencies capable of causing disaffection among them.
Reacting to the message, Reno wondered why a president of a country like Nigeria that has English as its ligua franca will address its citizens in a sectional language.
He wrote via his twitter handle, “President Buhari is the President of all Nigeria.
“He is not the President of only those who can speak/understand Hausa!
“This is an outrage!”
