People's Democratic Party Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, have chosen a former Governor of Anambra state, Dr. Peter Obi, as his running mate in the 2019 General elections.
The decision was made known on Twitter, with the move described as a "masterstroke" by a cross section of Nigerians online.
This follows endorsement of Alhaji Atiku by a former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, after a closed door meeting between the dou in Ota, Ogun State.
Meanwhile, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar have promised to have his cabinet set up before May 29th 2019 swearing day if he is elected.
He made this known in a tweet on his official and verified Twitter handle, @atiku.
"If Nigerians elect me as their President, I will NOT take 6 months before naming my cabinet. My cabinet will be ready before May 29, 2019, if by the grace of God, you elect me. Our country needs a decisive leader to Get Nigeria Working Again. #LetsGetNigeriaWorkingAgain," he said.
