Governors of Nigeria's northern states have called for the censorship of social media "to avoid the spread of fake news."
At their meeting in Kaduna today, they insisted that the effect of not doing such would be devastating.
They also condemned the “subversive” actions of some #EndSARS protesters, revealing that some people took advantage of peaceful protest to push their “separative agenda”.
Simon Lalong, Chairman of Northern Governors Forum (NGF) and Plateau State governor read a communique in Kaduna making "calls for major control mechanisms & censorship of social media practice in Nigeria".
