Presidential aspirant of the All Progressive Congress (APC), and former Lagos state governor, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, have revealed how he nominated Professor Yemi Osibanjo as the running mate of President Muhammadu Buhari in 2015.
He recounted this when speaking with APC members in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital on Thursday. He said that President Buhari had before the election approached him to be his running mate, because he had failed with every other person he picked as running mates in his earlier attempts.
However, according to him, the plan for a Muslim-Muslim ticket was thawted by former Senate President Bukola Saraki.
“I gave Osinbajo my right to be Vice President. You’re hearing this from me for the first time. That’s the truth,” Tinubu said.
